Each year, the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival spotlights more than 220 theatre productions in 40 venues featuring performances by more than 1,600 Artists from right here at home, across Canada, and around the world!

This year’s theme artwork was created by Fringe’s very own in-house graphic designer, Yu-Chen (Tseng) Beliveau. This stunning hand painted original artwork pays homage to two iconic Edmonton stars: the largest, longest running Fringe Theatre Festival in North America, and our official city bird, the mischievous magpie.

About Edmonton Fringe
The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is the largest, longest running Fringe Theatre Festival in North America and one of the top five worldwide.
We exist because theatre exists and what exists here doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. We are Edmonton-grown and Edmonton’s own. Fringe is a grassroots movement that cultivates creative collisions between community and art. We make space for out-of-the-ordinary, unconventional, and boundary-pushing art.
Fringe Artists receive 100% of the profit from the ticket sales. Since 1982, we have created exceptional artistic experiences, supported 44,000 + Artists, and kept Edmonton on the map as a destination and creative engine.
Every August, we welcome more than 750,000 site visits to the heart of Old Strathcona and ignite more than $20Million in local economic impact. From our free outdoor Music Series, to our more than 200 ticketed theatre performances, to our free KidsFringe Festival within a Festival for children ages 12 and under, there’s something for everyone.

The Edmonton Fringe is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF). CAFF unites, supports, empowers, and strengthens its 30+ member festivals to cultivate and foster independent artistic exploration for artists and audiences across North America.
Fringe Theatre is also a proud member of FAME (Festivals and Major Events Canada), an organization which seeks to increase political awareness of the importance of festivals and events in Canada as an economic driver, key export industry, and a sector of future growth and development.
