Howdy, fringer. We’re happy you’re here.

We are located in the heart of Old Strathcona, so parking in our immediate area is limited.

Our main site is one block north of Whyte Avenue, and is very close to residential neighbourhoods. We love our neighbours! Please obey street signs and traffic laws, park appropriately, keep the grounds litter free, and be mindful of noise after 11pm.

Our handy site map for this year is being made – so stay tuned!

Edmonton Transit Service

Edmonton Transit is our tranportation of choice for getting to Fringe! Riding ETS is a great way to travel that’s better for the environment and lighter on your wallet. Plus, you might just meet fellow fringers! Rought 8, 701, 4, 404, 523, or 9 along Whyte Ave or Gateway Boulevard are a great way to get to and from the Festival site.  You can use this handy ETS tool to plan your trip.

Walking and Cycling

Make the most of these precious summer days by biking or walking to Festival. It’s good for the environment, good fro you, and reduces traffic congestions. Bonus: you won’t have to pay for parking! Most venues are within walking distance of each other and the main site. During peak traffic times, the sidewalks to and from venues are busy, so please give yourself plenty of time to make your way through the Event site.

The City of Edmonton provides public bike racks throughout the Old Strathcona niehgbourhood. Use this handy map to find the closest bike rack. Please be advised that this lot is not always monitored and cyclists leave their bicycles at their own risk. Bring your own lock! For safety purposes, please refrain from cycling through the grounds during the Festival.

High Level Streetcar

Commuting doesn’t get much more spectacular than this! The Streetcar is the perfect mode of transportation when traveling to and from north of the river, and it will even drop you off right in the middle of our grounds! The Edmonton Radial Railway Society increases the frequency of its trips to Old Strathcona during Festival. Learn more and check out their schedule on their website.

Parking

Year-round metered parking and lots are readily available throughout Old Strathcona. These are the three closest paid parking lots:

  • East of the ATB Financial Arts Barns in the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market parking lot
  • West of the Fringe site on 83 Avenue and 104 Street
  • Southwest on 81 Avenue and 105 Street

During Festival, parking in our immediate area becomes much more limited. We encourage you to please use public and alternate transportation. If you do need to drive, please help us be good neighbours and resist the urge to park along the residential side streets – it’s the closest thing to a driveway a city-dweller has!

Construction

It wouldn’t be Edmonton without a little summertime construction! The city will be doing some roadwork in the area during our Festival, so please be sure to check ahead for any traffic or road conditions that might make getting to your venue or finding parking a little more difficult.
