Howdy, fringer. We’re happy you’re here.

We are located in the heart of Old Strathcona, so parking in our immediate area is limited.

Our main site is one block north of Whyte Avenue, and is very close to residential neighbourhoods. We love our neighbours! Please obey street signs and traffic laws, park appropriately, keep the grounds litter free, and be mindful of noise after 11pm.

Here’s a handy site map to help you get situated:

Site Map

Edmonton Transit Service

Why not take the bus or LRT? Routes 4, 8, 9, 404, 523, and 701 stop close to the ATB Financial Arts Barns and the Event site. You can use this handy ETS tool to plan your trip.

Walking

Most venues are within walking distance of each other and the main site. During peak traffic times, the sidewalks to and from venues are busy, so please give yourself plenty of time to make your way through the Event site.

Cycling

Thanks to our partners at the Bike Edmonton, a non-profit society that offers cycling resources to Edmontonians, we have a bicycle parking lot located next to the Kick Point Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre Venue E (8426 Gateway Boulevard). Please be advised that this lot is not always monitored and cyclists leave their bicycles at their own risk. Bring your own lock!

Free tune ups are available at the bicycle parking lot from 5pm – 8pm on Friday, August 13 and Friday, August 20.

The City of Edmonton also provides public bike racks throughout the Old Strathcona niehgbourhood. Use this handy map to find the closest bike rack.

For safety purposes, please refrain from cycling through the grounds during the Event.

High Level Streetcar

The Streetcar is the perfect mode of transportation when traveling to and from north of the river, and it will even drop you off right in the middle of our grounds! The Edmonton Radial Railway Society increases the frequency of its trips to Old Strathcona during the Festival. View the schedule here.

Parking

Year-round metered parking and lots are readily available throughout Old Strathcona. These are the three closest paid parking lots:

  • East of the ATB Financial Arts Barns in the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market parking lot
  • West of the Fringe site on 83 Avenue and 104 Street
  • Southwest on 81 Avenue and 105 Street

During the Event, parking in our immediate area becomes much more limited. We encourage you to please use public and alternate transportation. If you do need to drive, please help us be good neighbours and resist the urge to park along the residential side streets – it’s the closest thing to a driveway a city-dweller has!

Fringe Shuttle Service

Sorry, fringers. The Old Strathcona/French Quarter Shuttle service is on pause this year because of COVID-19 impacts. This is a temporary change in service – we hope to bring the Shuttle back next year! Thanks for your understanding.

Construction

It wouldn’t be Edmonton without a little summertime construction! The city will be doing some roadwork in the area during our Festival, so please be sure to check ahead for any traffic or road conditions that might make getting to your venue or finding parking a little more difficult.
