We make the most of every square inch of Festival space, so parking in our immediate area is limited!

Our main site is in the heart of Old Strathcona, just off of Whyte Avenue, and is very close to residential neighbourhoods. It is important that all Fringe staff, volunteers, and festival goers respect our neighbours. Please obey street signs and traffic laws, park appropriately, be mindful of noise after 11:00pm, and do not litter.

Most venues are within walking distance of each other. During peak traffic times, the sidewalks to and from Fringe venues are busy, so please give yourself plenty of time to make your way throughout the Festival.

The Edmonton Bicycle Commuters supply the Fringe Festival with two bicycle parking lots:

  • South of 85 Avenue on 104 Street (by Knox Church)
  • 104 Street / 84 Avenue (the Edmonton Public Library’s Strathcona Branch)

Please be advised that these bike lots are not always monitored. The Knox Church bike lot offers free bicycle tune-ups and how-to instruction on Fridays between 3 PM and 7 PM!

The City of Edmonton also provides public bike racks in front of Next Act Pub (8224 104 St NW) and near Starbucks (10370 82 Ave NW).

High Level Streetcar

The Streetcar is the perfect mode of transportation between the downtown and the Festival site. It’s also been known to be the location of a proposal or two each summer — you never know what you’ll see! The Edmonton Radial Railway Society increases the frequency of its trips to Old Strathcona during the Festival. You can view the schedule here.

Shuttle Service

A shuttle operates between The French Quarter and the Festival site. We’ll include the schedule for 2017 here as soon as it is available.

Take Edmonton Transit Service (ETS)

Edmonton Transit would like to thank you for taking transit to the Fringe by offering a ticket to get you home. Vouchers are included with the purchase of a Program Guide. Vouchers must be redeemed for a transit ticket any time after 4 PM at an Information Services Booth on site.

Routes 4, 7, 52, 57, 94, and 327 stop along Whyte Avenue close to the Festival site. You can use this ETS tool to plan your trip.

These are the three closest paid parking options:

  • East of the ATB Financial Arts Barns [in the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market parking lot]
  • West of the Fringe site on 83 Avenue and 103 Street
  • Southwest on 81 Avenue and 105 Street

You can use this map of Old Strathcona to find other paid parking options in the area. Please be respectful of our residential and commercial neighbours — always obey all traffic and parking signs!

Other Options

Whether you are cabbing, using a ride-share service, or getting a friend or family member to drop you off, please be mindful of pedestrians, other vehicles, and obey posted signage. We will provide details about the best places to be dropped off and picked up closer to the Festival.
