Fringe Horoscopes

The stars are aligning for our 40th anniversary! Read on to see what’s in store for you during this year’s Event.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

August is filled with some fiery and creative energies for you, Aries. With the Sun in fiery Leo, you will feel your inner artist come out to play. When you see an opportunity to step outside of the box, take it. This won’t necessarily mean you will be writing, directing, and starring in a one-act play, but it will lead to the new motivation you have been seeking.

This opportunity comes with one warning: with Venus in Libra encouraging us to get out there and indulge, beware overdoing it in the beer tents and at the food trucks. After all, no one feels creative when they have a stomach ache.

The Jester smiles upon your creative endeavours and reminds you to listen to your gut.

Your fringe beverage: Eau Claire Distillery‘s Rupert’s Whiskey Sassafras

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… take creative risks.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Uranus’ path through your sign has left you feeling pretty tense in the last few months, Taurus. This transit has brought about a change that caught you off guard and took you away from your comfort zone.

With Uranus going retrograde on August 19th, expect a closing weekend release of tension and conflict in your life. This might be the ending of a tense relationship, a reconnection from a lost friendship, or even the resolution of some outstanding bill – anything that makes the weights on your shoulders slide off.

The Jester reminds you that not everything or everyone deserves your energy, Taurus. Take some time to seek reconnection and enjoy the show.

Your fringe beverage: Big Rock‘s Traditional Ale

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… enjoy the moment.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. An gemini constellation is in the sky.

A little fringer told us that you’ve been struggling with brain fog recently, Gemini (looking at you, Neptune retrograde). But, there is great news ahead!

With Gemini-ruled Mercury entering Virgo on August 11th, you will feel the resolution of this unfocused energy come to you in a wave of detail-oriented organization and reinvigoration of your passions. You have been too hard on yourself, but when Venus enters Libra on the 16th you will find it irresistible to treat yourself to an evening of fun.

The Jester proclaims connecting to others who share your passions and letting them catch the beer tent tab when they offer.

Your fringe beverage: Big Rock Citradelic IPA

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… treat ourselves.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A cancer zodiac constellation is in the sky.

August is all about making your own destiny, Cancer. Since your sign is ruled by the Moon, the Leo New Moon that we experienced on the 9th sparked a period of energy, boldness, and creativity in your life.

This is the perfect time to take a chance, see a show you’ve never seen before (check out the randomizer), and begin acting on what you want most. Start on the goal that you have been putting off and use this time as your own personal energetic New Year’s Eve.

The Jester suggests taking some time to think about where you want to be when the next Fringe rolls around. This is the time to take the first step, Cancer.

Your fringe beverage: Booch‘s Peach Kombucha

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… embrace the unknown.

Leo (July 23 – Aug 22)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A leo constellation is in the sky.

What an incredible time to be you, Leo! With the entire Fringe falling within your season, you embody its fun, creative, and outgoing nature. Then, add an energetic New Moon in Leo on the 9th, and you’re charged and ready to go.

You’ve been laying low in July and putting in the work for self-discovery or self-recovery, and now it’s your time in the sun. Get back into the spotlight and open the sun-roof; you may not be on a stage but great opportunities come to those who seize the moment.

The Jester (a fellow Leo) advises wearing lots of bright colours when venturing out (and maybe even a big jester hat). You are the moment, live in it!

Your fringe beverage: Big Rock’s Grasshopper

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… live in the moment.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A virgo constellation is in the sky.

The Sun shifts into your sign just as the Fringe ends, but this doesn’t mean that this isn’t your time to shine. Virgo, you are creative and charismatic by nature but are often held back by your own perfectionism. During the Fringe, the Leo Sun will encourage you to let loose and jump on those passionate whims.

Plus, with Mercury entering Virgo on the 11th and Venus in Virgo until the 16th, you’ve got an action-packed month filled with creativity, love, communication, and revelry.

The Jester wants to remind you that creation is, by its nature, imperfect. When we embrace the mess, we create something entirely new and beautiful.

Your fringe beverage: Eau Claire Distillery’s EquineOx Mule

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… make beautiful messes.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Do you believe in a thing called love, Libra? Mark your calendar for August 16th, when loving Venus moves into charming Libra, because this will be the start of a journey into love for all Libra-kind. You may be feeling more flirty and more social during this time, so embrace it.

This is the perfect time to manifest the love that you have been desiring, whether that’s platonic, romantic, or even self-love. The upcoming Full Moon in Aquarius on the 22nd, will bring everything full circle and allow you to judge whether this change is truly meant for you. Keep your eyes open, after opening weekend, a spark will engage.

The Jester loves all types of love and thinks that the Fringe is the perfect date night. *jester wink*

Your fringe beverage: Booch’s Ginger Kombucha

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… fall in love.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A scorpio constellation is in the sky.

What is gone, always returns, Scorpio. With karmic Jupiter and transformational Pluto both in retrograde, you’ve been feeling like things have been slipping through your fingers lately. The 2nd Quarter Moon in Scorpio on August 15th combined with Mars in Virgo will be the catalyst you need to strengthen your grip and catch karmic gifts.

This will be a good time for finances and career, so if you’re waiting to hear about that new job or waiting for a bonus, the energy of the Universe will draw this to you, Scorpio. You tend to keep the good news to yourself out of fear of losing it, but this is the time to celebrate. That being said, remember to stay humble as you share in these important moments with those you love.

The Jester says something inspirational about karma and also, “can I borrow a dollar?”

Your fringe beverage: Big Rock’s Rhinestone Cowboy

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… share what we love.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A sagittarius constellation is in the sky.

Did you know that green onion cakes aren’t a popular food in most places, Sagittarius? Even though you haven’t been able to board a plane to somewhere amazing recently, we can find the same joy by exploring our surroundings. You’ve had to miss out on a lot of potential adventures over the last year, and we know how much that stings. But, don’t forget, there’s plenty of weird and wonderful to discover right here in YEG. During the tail end of Leo season, when inspiration and creativity take centre stage, use that extra burst of fiery energy to explore your local hubs and get reacquainted with the Festival City.

Additionally, generosity is on the menu for you this month, lucky successful Jupiter is in Aquarius. This combination reminds us that the energy we put into things is what we get out of them, so while you’re out exploring locally, remember to support the things that you love.

The jester reminds you to look for the beauty surrounding you, even if it’s two steps away from the open construction pit across from the Old Strathcona Farmers Market.

Your fringe beverage: Eau Claire Distillery’s Cherry Gin Collins

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… fall in love with local art.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A capricorn constellation is in the sky.

It’s time to give yourself a break, Capricorn. You’ve been burning the candle at both ends recently, trying to achieve a personal goal. Being ‘go-go-go’ all the time is exhausting but during this time of isolation, you’ve been relying on your drive for a purpose. With both the Sun and the New Moon in Leo this month, it’s time to shake off your stress and put on your rhinestone boots. In other words, cut loose, Capricorn!

To make the most of it, consider how you can work smarter and share in the joy of this summertime month. Everything is where it should be, and when the Full Moon in Aquarius appears on the 22, your hard work will be highlighted and you’ll be thankful you took the time to enjoy yourself.

The Jester has a pair of rhinestone boots that you can borrow, if you don’t have any.

Your fringe beverage: Big Rock’s Honey Brown Lager

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… take a break from the real world.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. An aquarius constellation is in the sky.

It’s time for a fresh breath of air, Aquarius. Monotony and routine don’t suit your style so your guidance this month is to try something new and embrace your true self. Let your true self shine: Wear bright colours, dye your hair, sing loudly in the car (with all the windows down), wear a multicoloured jester hat to your favourite Fringe show, the choice is up to you!

This will play perfectly into the Universes plan for you on the 12th of August when the Libra Moon trines Saturn, (your ruling planet). This aspect will bring a spark of pleasure into your day, amplifying your inner joy. This could come in the form of good news, good luck, good dreams, or even a good conversation with an old/new friend.

The Jester points to a rainbow in the distance and reminds you that brighter days are ahead.

Your fringe beverage: Eau Claire Distillery’s Gin & Tonic

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… try something new.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

An outline of the theatre district building against a dark and starry sky. A pisces constellation is in the sky.

What have you been dreaming about, Pisces? With a Neptune retrograde in Pisces interfering with our everyday life, everything must feel a bit hazy. For Pisces, this is a time of reconnection and intuition growth, meaning that we are going to be going through a time of great change all throughout the back half of 2021.

As we enter Leo season, we may not be ready for the radiance that this time will bring us. Your shine might draw people and memories from your past, but don’t let it interfere with the dream. Embrace that bold Leo energy and make memories instead of thinking about the “what-ifs.”  Pisces, in order for you to make the most of this time, it’s important to live for the moment and not get caught up in the past.

The Jester yawns sleepily and says, “when we dwell on memories more than we make them we are left with nothing except regrets.”

Your fringe beverage: Big Rock’s Pear Cider

Your ‘together’ phrase: Together we… make memories.
